I have joined Mr Andy’s classes for 10 years now and have been consistently getting good grades for both Math and Science since. Mr Andy’s passion towards teaching has allowed me to gained strong interest in both subjects since primary school which led me well in my following years of education. Mr Andy is also a dedicated teacher who is willing to go the extra mile to ensure that his students are clear of concepts and understand the different techniques behind a question, such as staying back after class to answer our questions or regularly checking on us if we have any doubts. He offers a very precise and effective answering technique where learning is not based off memory work but understanding the core concepts of each topic. Mr Andy is also a very caring teacher in which he cares about his students well-being, which is very important given the stress from studying. I came to this tuition centre because my friend introduced me and I am glad I made the right choice. I started tuition at the end of Sec 3 where my math grades were bad. However, Mr Andy was very patient with every student in the class. He guides through every topics that I am not clear in and was willing to give extra classes so that I will do well in my exams. I saw a huge improvement in my results and I was more clear of my schoolwork. Thank you Mr Andy.

Mr Andy is a very patient and friendly teacher. Whenever I’m met with difficulties in answering a question, he patiently checks through every working of mine to find out my mistakes and correct me. He remembers each of his students and takes the time to talk to each of us to find out how we are doing not only in studies but in life as well.

Mr Andy also goes out of his way to support his students. He doesn’t mind coming back to the tuition centre on days he doesn’t teach to give us extra lessons. He always tries his best to answer our questions quickly through WhatsApp. He is a really dedicated and meticulous teacher and I was able to improve really quickly under him.

Mr Andy uses a progressive teaching approach. He teaches the basic concepts and provides examples of how they can be applied to questions of varying levels of difficulties. He also exposes us to challenging questions to stretch our capabilities. Mr Andy cares deeply for his students and makes sure we are well-prepared for our examinations.

He is always ready to devote extra hours to help with our preparation. He is an understanding teacher who knows the struggles faced by his students. Because of that, he is also a parental figure whom we can seek advice from.

I have always struggled through mathematics mainly because I was not confident in my mathematical abilities, but under Mr Andy’s patience and guidance, I have gained better insight on how to approach mathematical problems and developed the confidence to solve mathematical problems.

Mr Andy caters his teachings to his individual student’s learning needs, hence everyone is able to progress at their own pace without lagging behind in class, thus I would definitely recommend anyone struggling with mathematics to join Mr Andy’s class!

Before I joined Mr Andy’s tuition centre, I have always found Mathematics as a dull and boring subject. Upon enrolling at his tuition centre, I found out that Mr Andy is a very passionate teacher and cares about his students greatly.

He never fails to make each and every Mathematics lesson fun and enjoyable and is always keen on answering the students’ doubts and queries. Joining his tuition centre is something that I have never regretted.

I attended Mr Andy’s AMath lessons in my O level year in 2017. I remember struggling with some of the concepts and it really helped me catch up with regular schoolwork and understand the syllabus better. The questions we did during the lesson and as homework was great because it exposed me to the common question types.

I genuinely appreciate his patience and clear guidance during a time when I was distressed. I would say that if you are having immense difficulties with Math just like I did last time, you would not regret joining his tuition classes.

I was constantly struggling with additional mathematics in secondary 3, constantly failing tests and exams. I decided that I needed tuition for secondary 4. Mr Andy was patient and kind, willing to answer and explain any queries I had.

His explanations were well thought out and he’ll be able to suit every student’s needs since everyone does things differently. I’m glad that I joined Mr Andy’s tuition as my grades jumped from F9 to A2 in the O levels.

Mr Andy is a very friendly and experienced teacher. He is always very patient to help me whenever I face a problem. Mr Andy always gives useful tips and highlights the important points during the lessons. Through his lessons, I get to have a better understanding of all the topics and eventually able to score an ‘A1’ for my Emath ‘O’ Level.

Mr Andy is one of the most self-motivated teachers who is willing to go out his way to teach us. Mathematics used to be the subject which I will always score C5 in, and never once a distinction.

However, after attending Mr Andy’s tuition classes for just two months, he provided me a firm foundation in Mathematics, as well as enabled me to score a high A1 in my End of Year exams in 2016. He is amiable and took great effort to cater to the different needs of every student despite our differences in aptitudes. Apart from his flexibility, he also has a great sense of empathy for students who struggle with the subject.

With his guidance, I have done consistently well for Elementary and Additional Mathematics, scoring A1 for both subjects in the ‘O’ Levels. I am extremely thankful to have been taught by Mr Andy and it is of no doubt that to me, he is the best Mathematic teacher I have ever had.

I was never the brightest student. However, through Mr Andy’s guidance, my knowledge in Mathematics got better. Whenever I had any doubt, Mr Andy would explain the concepts to me in great details to make sure I got it. Thank you, Mr Andy, for conducting lessons that I look forward every week.

Before joining this tuition, I was constantly failing my Additional Maths. However, with the help of the tuition notes and 1 to 1 teaching, my grades improved and studying Additional Math became easier. Mr Andy is very clear in his explanation and very patient, always clarifying my doubts. This has helped me to understand concepts much better.

Mr Andy is a very dedicated and experienced Math teacher !! He ensures that you thoroughly understand every lesson taught and will go the extra mile to spend more time or even provide more materials catered to your specific needs. While doing so, he keeps his lessons lively and enjoyable allowing students to study comfortably without excessive stress.

I am so thankful and glad to have Mr Andy as my teacher as he never gave up on me when I joined his class with failures in both E and A maths, but he helped pulled them up to distinctions in O levels. Thank you for everything!

Dear Miss Vanessa,  my parents and I would like to say thank you for everything you did for me, you helped me a lot. You really helped me improve my grades, and I am sure the extra tuition will help me. I enjoyed your Maths lessons a lot because you always find ways to modify the lessons and make the lesson delightful. You are really good and patient and your lessons are well planned and easy to follow.

Having Ms Vanessa as my Maths Tutor has inspired me. She is extremely good at explaining questions and is able to explain in various ways. I was constantly struggling in Maths all the while in school. I realised I needed help and thus sought tuition help at GTA. My first day was very interesting as Ms Vanessa helped me realise that I had to learn the basics in Maths to progress. She really pushed me. The topics I covered were Differentiation, Integration, Matrices and Logs. She also taught me Physics.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I would definitely recommend this tuition centre to anyone who is struggling with Maths, Science or English!

Having Ms Vanessa as my private tutor has really helped!  Before my lessons at GTA, I was struggling with Maths, Chemistry & Physics.  Ms Vanessa explained the topic to me at the start of the hour and then I was able to practice on Past Papers and when I got stuck, she would them patiently explain again. My results have since improved a lot and I hope to replicate that in my N level exam this year. Thanks, Ms Vanessa!

I just want to say that this centre helps me learn a lot of things this year. I get a lot of help with the subjects (Maths and Science) I need help. The teachers are very patient with me, trying to take their time and teach me. Miss Vanessa is such a caring and loving person. She always smiles and makes us learn under no pressure. In this way, I can absorb much better. She is helping us succeed in our Math and Science and I really thank her for that.

I like this tuition centre so much that I got to stay here even if l I get into secondary school. My brother also graduated from Great Teaching Academy.  I am not the only one who is happy to come here. My mom is happy because the teachers here really go the extra miles, sometimes sacrificing their break time just to ensure we can do well in our studies.  I was in this centre ever since p4. The teachers are teaching us something and something more than our school.

Great Teaching Academy (we all call it GTA) is a great tuition centre! The teachers are very qualified and I know they want us to succeed. I can’t stay away from this centre. I tried another centre for one day (only one day!) due to my house moving and I came home and told my mother, “I’m not going back. I wanna go back to GTA.”

Ms Vanessa is the ever-jovial  Maths and Science teacher but she is also very serious when it comes to our work. She is really really good at what she does. Whenever I think something is hard in my maths work, she makes it so easy. I get to learn about many things about Science from her which I never knew about in school. The other teachers here, even though I’m not in their class, really care about you and your education. Also, I have a lot of chances to make up work during the week. Consultation is also available for those students who don’t understand something and wants to clarify key concepts. Lastly, this centre has a safe learning environment and I learn many things here. These are some of the many reasons why I value my education at GTA!. The students ( my friends here), everyone here is destined to be here for a great future and good grades. These are the reasons I came back!

Mr Zarieo takes the extra effort to explain and recap content in thorough detail after lessons. It is very useful for us because it provides a summary of all key points for the whole lessons because sometimes we might just lose our concentration for a while during lessons. His feedback and comments for our assignments are always very detailed and he explains them really well. He is encouraging, friendly and approachable. He really goes the extra miles to check in now and then to make sure we’re on track too.

Mr Zarieo is the best English teacher I’ve ever met! His lesson is so lively and enjoyable. The most important thing is I’ve learnt a lot from him after every lesson. He can go extra miles to even sacrificing his own lunchtime to coach me further and just to explain to me the things I don’t quite get it. He is very patient in teaching me and because of him, my English grades improve tremendously and I’ve got a B4 in the prelim and finally a B3 for English in O level, a vast achievement from being a constant failure when I was in school. I really benefited a lot from his lessons.

Mr Zarieo, I just wanna thank you for helping me get A2 for English. Not many people believe that Sec 5 students like me can get distinction but you gave me that confidence I need. Sorry if I was irritating at times though. Will never forget you.

I find Teacher Zarieo’s lessons very interesting and I like the notes he gave me. I revise the notes frequently and I think they helped me a lot. I’ve done really badly for my CA1 where I had the only D for English and C for Science. After joining Mr Zarieo’s classes, I improved by more than 20 marks for the two subjects: B English and A for Science for SA1. I want to continue to have tuition with Teacher Zarieo!

Dear Mr Zarieo, thank you for making your Science and English lessons so interesting. Because of your tutoring, I got interested in the subjects and managed to score “A” grades for PSLE. Thanks again for teaching me and caring for my grades.

Teacher Zarieo taught me Science and English in Sec 1. Getting promoted from NT to NA is not an easy task.  However, with the encouragement from the teachers and especially Teacher Zarieo, I achieved it!

His teaching methods are very good. The worksheets even have riddles to spur us on! The worksheets are fun!

If I don’t understand any particular topic, Teacher Zarieo explained until I do. More than that, he even ensures that I remember what I learnt.

To Staff and Teachers at Great Teaching Academy: THANK YOU so much for everything! I am so glad to have my tuition here and I have learned so much since Day 1. I am grateful also for the last-minute exam prep lessons for the A levels!  It’s really helpful. I am thankful to have experienced tutors like Mr Andy, Mr Zarieo and Ms Vanessa who are able to give me advice on both my subject knowledge and exam tips and even with university advice and guidance with personal statements.

I found tutoring at GTA very useful firstly because it helped me to become more confident in concepts I previously was not so sure about. Also, I learnt new techniques in approaching questions and clearly understanding command and key words or even just laying out the question before starting it. It definitely pushed my maths up to the 90s and I hope to apply some techniques in my other subjects too.

My daughter attended revision courses the month before PSLE. I found this much more helpful and feel her understanding has improved considerably. In comparison, the quality of teaching here is significantly better and would recommend this centre to anyone around me.

Dear Teachers, Thank you very much for teaching Alvin for the past few months! I am very happy with his progress in vocabulary and oral English in such a short time.
